Best mooie horror/gore flick.

WORLD OF WARCRAFT
TEH OFFICIAL FONZIE REVIEW, CUSTOMIZED FOR FONZIE'S UNDERSTANDING!

Intro
Azeroth lies in ashes once again, after years, ages, centuries, eternities of conflict between Humans, Orcs, Elves, Undeads, ... Not a decade have the races inhabiting the world had the chance to rest in peace. Once again, armies are in motion. The Undeads, Trolls, Orcs & Tauren have gathered up under one banner called the Horde. They will strike from three major cities; Thunder Bluff, Ogrimmar and Undercity. Their only goal is to remove the Alliance from Azeroth.
The "good" of Azeroth decided they could not face all this evil FFA... they signed up for the new Alliance. Humans, Elves, Gnomes and Dwarves now stand ready to face this Horde.

The Game
Install the game, create your account... The portals into the World of Warcraft are but slowly opening.
Next step you are required to go through before you start playing is to pick your allegiance, select your race, and your class. Other details such as your gender, skin color, piercings, ... can also be customized to your liking.

Now, you are ready. After listening to the stunning WoW soundtrack while doing all this, you have finally managed to click "Enter the World" button and the loading screen has appeared. Soon you'll see a nice intro cinematic depending on what race you have picked, informing you of the things going on after The Frozen Throne was captured by Arthas and things had seemed to cool down. After your mouth has fallen open far enough, you finally get to see the first NPC, awaiting with your very first quest. Accept it, and soon get to explore through all the aspects of the game, doing it your own way.

Professions
Cooking, Mining, Blacksmithing, Skinning... just to name a few. Once you have gotten your character under way, you get to see the NPCs containing the knowledge to bring it over to you. Whether you have chosen to be a Warrior or a Priest, there are sure as hell professions that match for you and those that do not.

For instance, a blacksmith has the ability to make Mail & Plate armor types, which can only be worn by Warriors & Paladins. To create this items, you will need copper ore (to begin with). That can be mined from the Copper Ore Veigns locatable throughout each continent. You can only pick 2 primary professions... But there are also secondaries, like Fishing and Cooking which are useful to support your food stockpile.

Food stockpile?!
That's right! In WoW you can let your character eat! This is mainly done to recover your health. Food items will only regenerate your hitpoints, and it can not be done while in combat.

So can we drink, too?
Of course! And you can get drunk as hell! After you've drunk some alcoholic beverages, often obtained as quest reward or brewed by a Brewmaster, the screen gets all dizzy and you'll get a strenght bonus for the time being. There are also normal drinks, that will regenerate your Mana.

Instant healing ways?
Yes, regeneration potions are not the only ways of regaining your health. You can often buy Healing Potions from a Trade Goods NPC or find them as loots, which is rather rare.
Special classes like Priest or Paladin do have instant heals of their own, which require mana.

Mana, Energy, Rage, ...?
All these things are unique to specific classes. The casual class (Priest, Mage, Warlock, ...) uses Mana (which is a term we are all familiar with from WC3). These Mana Points are required to be able to cast spells.

What about the Energy and Rage things then?
Energy can only be found on Rogues. They have 100 Energy during the whole game so it does not increase when they level up. With this energy they have the ability to make special combinations. During the battle, Energy slowly regenerates. If you have more combination points on one monster, you will be able to use more advanced tactics.

Rage is for Warriors. A Rage point is obtained when a Warrior strikes an enemy with Melee weapons or is striked by Melee weapons. As Energy, it's only ever on 100 maximum, but Energy points always start at 100 when a rogue enters a fight, while a Warrior has to start from 0. A Warrior has to hit an enemy to be able to cause him special strikes like the Heroic Strike which will cause more weapon damage.

PVP, Raids, Battlegrounds
When the player is feeling ready for it, he can start joining in some Player-Versus-Player action. This can be done in several ways: Duelling with a character of the same side. This is friendly and for fun, Raiding the enemy faction: a Horde town, guarded by usually high level NPCs. This is most likely for big groups and for higher level players and can get up to mass battles and finally there is also the Battleground which is unique in every way.

Battlegrounds
When you reach a certain level, you will be able to enter the Battleground. Currently, only one is in the works and that is for the real high level players but there will be more added soon that will be able to be enterred by the lower levels.

What to do in a Battleground?
A Battleground is a whole different playstyle within World of Warcraft. It can be compared to WC3. The Alliance and Horde both have 1 base camp, guarded by towers and NPCs. In between those 2 will be graveyards (for respawn, think: Battlefield where you have to get a command point in order to respawn after you've died). Each faction can take over a graveyard to have the ability to be able to revive nearer the enemy base. There are also quests available which will help you take over the enemy base. You can also collect Enemey's Souls, which you can deliver to a special NPC in your base. After you've collected enough, your side will be aided by a special elemental.

What happens when you take over a Battleground?
Your side will get a temporary bonus for any PVP-related action.

Conclusion
World of Warcraft is an addictive game that will have you hooked for months to come no doubt! Even though it's high monthly fee, and the swallowing up of your precious time... this game is a monster!
Build out your character as you proceed through the game, do the quests in an order you want yourself, win exciting auctions, kill legendary monsters and win epic raidish battles in a game full of action, adventure and roleplaying!

World of Warcraft deserves
- 18/20 Gameplay - Well balanced, bugs are rare
- 16/20 Graphics - Nothing innovative, but not bad at all
- 18/20 Sound - Epic soundfiles make this game complete
- 15/20 Story - A bit disappointing since you have to read a lot if you want to know exactly what went on after the burning legion was driven away, even though the story also evolves a bit through quests, the books lying around everywhere carry the most important message along
