The first summer suns are rising, folks all around are generally optimistic and humorous, I just returned from France where I went snowboarding for a week, my PC has finally returned from the hospital, and no other band than Lit announced a concert in Belgium. I feel like I'm reborn.
2 fridays ago, I received a phone call from the doctor, saying my PC had finally recovered. That same day, I went to pick him up and installed him back in his cozy little nest. He may have recovered, but he's not the same fella as he was before. The doctors had to do a sort of brain-transplantation. His motherboard was toast, and a new one was required. But the donors were out of my old ASUS motherboard, so the shop finally suggested to replace it with an AMD. I ended up drawing back €115 from the old motherboard, which is pretty good since now I have an entire new and better one. Don't ask for specifications, because I wouldn't know. I only know that he runs perfectly again and that's what I needed.
The next day, on saturday, I had a train to catch. Together with Eveline, and a friend named Glynis, we left for Brussels where we took a TGV towards Lyon. Once there, we had 40 minutes to eat a slice of Lyonnic pizza and catch our next train with destination Modane. Our stop was a while before Modane, in St. Jean De Maurienne. Eveline's parents were already waiting for us at the station (they went ahead by car and we followed with the train because we couldn't fit 5 persons + luggage in their car) and drove us up between the beautiful mountains unto a heigth of 1600m to the town of St Sorlin D'Arves. There was the apartment in which we'd stay for the rest of the week. When we arrived in the apartment, it was about 17:30. Enough to unpack our bags, enjoy the first bits of snow, eat a good first dinner and crawl in the bed.
The entire week we snowboarded like mad ones, made funny noises, sang the best singalongs and acted like we were retarded little children. A holiday of my preference for sure.
The ski-pistes go up to 2620m in our ski-area. We went all the way to the top of the mountain and it feels absolutely fantastic to be up there, and then to board your way down back to the start of the elevators... you can't begin to imagine what a feeling that gives.
On the next saturday, without any broken bones we returned back to the station in St Jean De Maurienne. When Eveline's parents dropped us off to wait for the train, the three of us started singing an awesome Santa Claus song. But not how it was meant to be sang... here's how it went.
"Zie ginds komt de stoomtrein uit Modane weer aan
Hij brengt ons naar Lyon-Part-Dieu allemaal
Oh lieve tsjoeke-tsjoek, kom toch eens wat rapper
Want ik heb een afspraak in Mechelen bij de kapper!"
About 7 hours from then we arrived back in Mechelen indeed, and our holiday was over. We made some really cool pictures and videos and I'd love to share these with you guys. I only need to find somewhere to upload them. Any ideas?
The fact that Lit is really coming over to Groezrock makes me even more happy than I already was and I feel like nothing can break my luck right now.
I'd like to close this blog off with one last saying:
It's great to feel great, but only those who feel it can speak of it.
